Binding

I found this tutorial for adding binding to my quilt. http://www.fonsandporter.com/content_downloads/Binding_10092012.pdf

I love this quilt. Just need to finish the hand sewing. I will post a picture of the whole quilt when done.

I also love my new nail color.

Quilt Show

I spent the weekend at "The Gathering of Quilters 2013". I offered to put three antique quilts in the show. They were passed down to me, from my mother-in-law. I think she would have enjoyed seeing her quilts on display.

This one is called "Doves In The Window". It was done around 1910.

This is called "Around The World". It was done sometime in the 1930's.

And, this is "Grandmother's Flower Garden. This was done in the 1960's.

It was a great show, with lots of inspiration.

Adjusting

As we get older, we need to make some adjustments. Trina is having a hard time jumping up and down from the sofa. So, here is a picture of her new steps. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

More Stash

After a trip to Shipshewana, I have enough to get started on more of the berry basket quilt. When I got home the mailman delivered the mail. In it was the much anticipated book, "101 Fabulous Small Quilts". So many projects, so little time!

Still Winter

Woke up this morning to this winter scene.

Which meant more time for this.

After a lot of Civil War prints, I am beginning to want something light. I bought this pattern years ago. I still love it. I finished the piecing of one square today. Tomorrow I need to find a few more fabrics to go with what I have. I also hope to pick out floss for the vines and berries.

Finally

I was reminded today that it has been a long time since I have blogged. So, I worked today on a new quilt. And, now I have something to blog about. I finished the little basket squares yesterday. Today I but it all together. And, it is ready to be quilted. Yeah!

I wanted to share this finish too. I plan to use this on my table when I talk about Casting For Recovery. I love this organization. check it out: http://castingforrecovery.org/wordpress/home/.

Christmas Gifts

I can finally post some pictures of quilts that I finished for Christmas gifts. The first one was a special request for a quilt, with pictures of friends on it. My granddaughter was really surprised and happy with the quilt.

The next quilt was for my youngest son.

I love the colors in this quilt.

This is a quilt I finished earlier this year. One of my daughter-in-laws claimed it. Here she is all snuggled up.

And, here is a close up.

The final one was for my other daughter-in-law. I need to get a better picture. It is so much prettier than what it looks like here.

I have plenty of more projects to keep me busy this year. Happy New Year!
